May 2010 – “JAKO Messtechnik GmbH has been accredited!“ – that is what the accreditation notification recently published by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy (BMWFJ) says. As officially authorised verification centre for pressure gauges, JAKO has now taken over duties that used to be the sole domain of the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying.

Together with the verification centre, also JAKO’s calibration centre has been tested and recognised by the state. Since then, JAKO’s calibration certificates are valid asinternationally recognised proof for the reliability of pressure gauges and their measurement results. This has attracted considerable interest from national and international operators and plant engineers in our comprehensive calibration, adjustment and repair services.

In this function, JAKO’s goal is not only to score with short lead times and a competent information service, but also – and above all – to convince customers with attractive unit and package prices.

JAKO’s verification and calibration centre was set up as independent business unit in dedicated premises. This not only created optimal metrological conditions for highly precise measurements, but also ensured the organisational independence from the production plant of JAKO GmbH. Objectivity takes top priority and is the only way for JAKO to win the trust of customers, partners and other manufacturers, allowing the company to calibrate or verify also measuring devices not produced by JAKO.

A verification is required in cases where laws, regulations or other legal provisions allow the commissioning or operation of a pressure gauge only if there is a proof of suitability for the respective pressure gauge in form of a verification (device seal - stamping mark). Normally, these are measuring devices the proper functioning and measurement accuracy of which is directly related to the health and safety of people or that serve as measure to determine prices in the public trade in goods.

JAKO’s ÖKD calibration service is mainly targeted at companies which require the measurement results of their pressure measuring devices to be absolutely reliable and safe in their reproducibility. This mostly concerns calibration standards of in-plant test laboratories or of commercially active test institutes and public testing institutions. But there are also many companies that outsource the entire test equipment monitoring of their pressure measuring devices to JAKO for cost reasons.

JAKO’s verification and calibration service guarantees complete retraceability to the international reference standard, creates transparency and reproducibility regarding the uncertainty of measurement of the measurement results and is designed for the verification and calibration of both single devices as well as entire device groups.
